**_Summary of the Role:_**
The Remote Video Editor turns Pet Awesome’s brand voice and paid/organic strategies into high‑performing short‑form video. You will support our Paid Media Specialist (performance creatives for Meta/TikTok/YouTube) and our Social Media Manager (organic reach, engagement, and community resonance). You’ll review, organize and curate raw assets and UGC, craft new edits, and systematically iterate to scale winners.
You’ll collaborate closely with the Paid Media Specialist, Social Media Manager, and Project Manager, to define deliverables, timelines, and ensure outcomes align with company goals. Collaboration will typically take place over Slack and Zoom video meetings with cameras on and occasional screen sharing when needed.
Once the goals are set, you will take ownership of executing the work and will be responsible for delivering results within the agreed-upon parameters and timelines.
Knowledge transfer, transparency and timely communication with all relevant stakeholders will be a critical part of your work to ensure we can collaborate effectively with you and participate seamlessly as needed.
**_Key Responsibilities:_**
* **Content Library Curation:** Develop, curate, organize, optimize new and existing media assets to support organic and paid advertising and brand marketing strategies driving long term profitability.
* **Performance Creative Editing:**
* Turn briefs, insights, and hypotheses into short‑form ad edits for mainstream advertising platforms including: Meta, Amazon, TikTok, YouTube, etc.
* Relentlessly iterate across key drivers such as: hooks, angles, offers, CTAs, captions, and pacing to lift thumb‑stop rate, CTR, CVR, ROAS and other relevant KPIs.
* Create variant packs per concept that include multiple: hooks, lengths, aspect ratios (1:1, 4:5, 9:16), CTAs, effects, music selections, etc.
* Deliver clean, platform‑ready masters with organized source files and clear naming/versioning.
* **Platform Compliance:** Ensure all media complies with platforms’ evolving implicit and explicit best practices and policies such as TOS, ensuring full account functionality is maintained and shadowbanning, suppression and other algorithmic negative consequences are prevented.
* **Collaborative Documentation Development:** Develop various forms of documentation including SOPs, video demonstrations, tutorials, playbooks and guidelines in collaboration with the Knowledge team to ensure comprehensive knowledge capture and accessibility to facilitate seamless hand‑offs so stakeholders can utilize your deliverables and scale your work.
**_Requirements:_**
_MANDATORY:_
* **Portfolio Examples:** UGC‑style ads and social edits that lift key metrics (e.g., CTR, CPA, etc.) developed for DTC e‑commerce targeting at least one developed market such as the: US, CA, UK, EU, AU or similar.
* **Experience/Background:**
* **2+ years – Video Editing:** Verifiable work experience editing short‑form performance creatives working for companies based in developed markets such as the: US, CA, UK, EU, AU or similar.
* **AI & Efficiency Tools:** Hands‑on experience with at least one of the following: Runway, Descript, ElevenLabs, Topaz, Whisper, or equivalent for clip selection, voiceover, cleanup, or rapid captioning.
_Tools/Skills:_
* **Video Editing:** Proficient in any mainstream non‑linear editor (e.g. Premiere Pro, Final Cut, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, etc.).
* **Video Design Skills**: Create brand‑aligned on‑screen graphics—thumbnails, overlays, banners, CTAs—using tools like Photoshop, Figma, Canva, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or any other mainstream platform.
_PREFERRED:_
_Experience/Background:_
* **1+ year - Remote Startup Experience:** Worked with a small team remotely in a <20-person company in a low-structure environment.
* **A/B Test Execution** – Experience setting up creative split tests, reporting results, gathering insights and driving improvements.
_Tools/Skills:_
* **Performance‑Analytics** – Ability to read creative‑analytics such as (Click Through Rate, Average Watch Time, Quartile Completion %, etc. and translate insights into quick iterations.
* **Work-Management Platform:** Proficient in ClickUp or a comparable tool (e.g., Asana, Monday, Jira, etc.).
