What we are looking for:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Temporary HR Generalist to support our Human Resources function during a temporary leave of absence for 30-40 hours per week for the timeframe of June 2025 through approximately February of 2026. This role will be responsible for a range of HR tasks, with a focus on onboarding, benefits administration, HRIS updates (UKG), and compliance support. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and able to work independently while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and send offer letters and coordinate pre-employment background checks.
• Assist with new hire onboarding and offboarding processes.
• Update and maintain employee records in UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group, formerly UltiPro) HRIS system.
• Support benefits enrollment and respond to employee benefits inquiries.
• Administer and track FMLA and other leave-of-absence cases.
• Ensure HR electronic files and documentation are organized and up to date.
• Assist with employee communications and respond to routine HR-related questions.
• Maintain compliance with employment laws and internal policies.
• Collaborate with payroll and other departments as needed to ensure accurate employee data.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist or similar role.
• Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
• Hands-on experience with an HRIS system, preferably UKG.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace; strong document management and Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience administering FMLA or other leave programs.
• HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
• Experience with DocuSign is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Sedentary work lifting no more than 10 pounds.
• Occasional lifting, carrying, and standing.
• Frequent hand/eye coordination to operate office equipment.
• Vision sufficient to read computer screens, reports, and related department documents.
• Dexterity to operate computer keyboards and other related office equipment.
• Endurance sufficient to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
• Frequent speech communication and hearing.
